Mason Marchment scored the winning goal on a spinning backhander with 7:37 to play with an assist from Jake Oettinger, who made 26 saves, as the Dallas Stars beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 on Sunday. Marchment took a slow-rolling pass made by Thomas Harley from behind Dallas’ goal line to the opposite blue line,

Marchment gave Dallas a 2-1 lead with 7:37 remaining on a backhand from the slot. Marchment was spotted behind the Winnipeg defense by Thomas Harley and sprung for a breakaway, then spun away from a Josh Morrissey backcheck to get the shot off.

Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn had a goal and an assist each and Roope Hintz also scored for Dallas, which snapped a two-game skid. Jake Oettinger made 29 saves to run his record this season at American Airlines Center to 8-0 in his 200th NHL start.

The Winnipeg Jets fall 3-1 to the Dallas Stars Sunday afternoon in a physical, tightly matchup contest. Both teams didn't give up an inch with both netminders having stellar games with Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck and Dallas' Jake Oettinger both making 27 or more saves.
