Director Vignesh Shivan has deactivated his X account. Reports have suggested that he did so due to criticism from fans of Dhanush and a legal battle with the actor. However, fans of Vignesh have said that this isn't the case since his Instagram account is still active.

The controversy erupted after Dhanush sent a legal notice over unauthorized clips in Nayanthara’s documentary. Nayanthara responded by criticizing the actor for blocking its release.
