The FDNY responded to a deadly multi-alarm fire inside an apartment building on the Upper East Side on Monday night.Officials said the call came in just after 7:15 p.m. and units quickly responded to 526 E.

Upper East Side residents recounted the horrifying moments when flames from a deadly three-alarm fire tore its way through an apartment building on Monday night, killing one person and leaving seven firefighters and residents injured.

One person was killed, another was injured and six firefighters sustained minor injuries and were treated for smoke inhalation, Assistant Chief of EMS Paul Miano said.
