Former Michigan star JJ McCarthy offers unconventional advice to the Wolverines’ new quarterback commit, Bryce Underwood, as he begins his journey in Ann Arbor.

J.J. McCarthy may be the Michigan GOAT at quarterback in terms of his play in college (Tom Brady is the GOAT, but he didn't lead Michigan football to a national championship as McCarthy has) but his heir apparent is potentially on his way to Ann Arbor in just about a week.

Ignoring the outside noise is a lesson McCarthy said he learned from former Michigan strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert, who following Jim Harbaugh to the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason. Herbert's former second-in-command, Justin Tress, is Michigan's current strength coach.
