Juan Soto, the winter's top free agent, has begun the process of eliminating teams from contention for his services, agent Scott Boras said during Blake Snell's introductory press conference with the Dodgers media.

The 26-year-old Dominican lefty is expected to make his final decision by the end of Winter Meetings at the latest, which would set a deadline of Dec. 12, The Athletic reported Tuesday, following on a similar report from the Associated Press. Soto's agent Scott Boras, though, said he doesn't expect an "imminent" decision.

With a fun free agent class, led by the generational talent of Juan Soto, there is a major opportunity for teams to try and build their roster for a run in 2025 and to try and keep pace with the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
