Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to strike the UK with a new ballistic missile after using the weapon to hit a target in Ukraine.Downing Street condemned Mr Putin for further escalating the conflict by using a ballistic missile with a range of “several thousand kilometres” against the city of Dnipro.

Sir Keir Starmer has not confirmed that the UK is supplying the precision weapons - but they are understood to have been used by Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia last week.

The United Kingdom has secretly delivered dozens of Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine, Bloomberg reported on November 26. This marks the first such shipment under Prime Minister Keir Starmer and comes as Kyiv faces a critical shortage of long-range munitions.

Ukraine has reportedly deployed UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles against Russian targets, a significant escalation given Russia’s updated nuclear doctrine. -This doctrine now allows for a nuclear response to conventional strikes on Russian soil using weapons from nuclear powers like the UK or the US.

Hundreds of troops are believed to have been killed after the missiles struck an underground bunker in Russia.
