As Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police continue the task of evidence collection after the 24 November Sambhal violence over a court-ordered mosque survey, a Pakistan connection has now emerged in the case.

Despite a directive barring outsiders from entering violence-hit Sambhal, Rahul Gandhi plans to visit. The district’s administration warns that his presence could escalate tensions following deadly clashes over a mosque survey.

Rahul Gandhi, the Lok Sabha opposition leader, was prevented by police from visiting violence-stricken Sambhal. The acting Lok Sabha speaker questioned Gandhi's absence from Parliament during the incident.

Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak accused Congress leaders of politicising the violence in Sambhal and urged politicians to refrain from disrupting the law and order of the state.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has left his home to go to Sambhal in UP. He will reach Ghazipur border in a short while from where the UP border begins. Police has put up barricades here. The administration of Sambhal has not given permission to Rahul Gandhi for the visit and has requested the administration of Noida and some other districts not to allow Rahul Gandhi to come to Sambhal.
