Some Aiken area schools will be closed for school, after school activities Jan. 10 due to the possibility of hazardous winter conditions, they announced Jan. 9.

Staunton, Augusta County and Waynesboro public schools will all be closed Friday, the divisions announced. A snow and ice storm Sunday night into Monday morning has left roads throughout the area ice-covered and led to all three school divisions closing every day this week.

Hanover County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, with some employees to report to work, as the district continues to evaluate the impact of both the winter storm and water service issues the county faced this week.
