In a new episode of the 'Politickin’' podcast, the *NSYNC musician alleges the show was set to shoot the pilot but was shut down after he came out

The former *NSYNC member and solo star described the work he lost after network officials said he would not be a believable straight character.

Singer and actor Lance Bass says that, after coming out as gay in 2006, a network TV show he was supposed to appear in was shut down.

Bass rose to fame as a member of NSYNC, which broke up in 2002. The singer went on to pursue an acting career, but when he came out as gay on the cover of People magazine in 2006, opportunities dried up.

Lance Bass is reflecting on how coming out led to the cancellation of a CW pilot he was set to star in. The singer, 45, opened up about experiencing some professional drawbacks after publicly revealing his sexuality,

The NSYNC star was told that they couldn't "do the show anymore" because viewers "have to believe that you’re straight to play a straight character."
