One candidate is former Duke quarterback Maalik Murphy, who entered the transfer portal following a successful first season as the Blue Devils’ starting quarterback in 2024. Multiple reporters from 247Sports, including Tom Loy and Matt Zenitz, reported Tuesday that Murphy will visit the Plains on Wednesday.

Maalik Murphy filled a gaping hole at quarterback for Duke one year ago after Riley Leonard left for Notre Dame. After throwing 26 TD passes he’s entering the transfer portal again.
