Two independent craft brewers in southern Minnesota have announced impending closures after listing their companies for sale.

The brewery's closure will mark the end of the area for the North Mankato and Mankato communities, which welcomed the establishment's arrival over 12 years ago. Tupy listed the business for sale in August, announcing he planned to retire. Two other Christmas boat parades on the Treasure Coast still are scheduled for Saturday night.

MANKATO — After 12 years in business, Mankato Brewery announced it would be closing at the end of January, according to a Facebook post by owner Tim Tupy.

The Brewer's Bar, Pittsburgh's oldest standing gay bar has been sold and will be closing early next year. The owners of the bar, which has been in business for 45 years, announced the news of the sale on social media on Tuesday.
