NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte urged the alliance on Tuesday to deliver greater support for Ukraine after a record Russian drone attack during the night. Rutte said NATO support was critical for upholding Ukraine's defence against the Russian invasion but that the alliance needs "to go further to change the trajectory of the conflict.

NATO’s new Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized the need for increased support for Ukraine and condemned Russia’s use of North Korean troops and weapons, Iranian drones, and Chinese dual-use goods on a visit to Athens.

Putin said the missile attack was in response to Ukraine firing weapons supplied by the United States and Britain into Russia.

The head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has expressed his support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia but there is no evidence he said he will expel the U.S. if President-elect Donald Trump “surrenders Ukraine”,

Ukraine needs money for military production, not foreign troops, Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur said.

He emphasized that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte shares the same position as his predecessor Jens Stoltenberg, who called for lifting the strike restrictions during his tenure. The decision to lift the restrictions lies with individual NATO member states.
