More flooding is “likely” this week after Storm Bert brought torrential rain over the weekend, the Environment Secretary said.Steve Reed said its impacts “should be less severe” than they were on Sunday and Monday morning.

Torrential rain doused most of the country, stymying travel and leading to widespread flooding, landslides, fallen trees and power outages.

At least five people have died as Storm Bert swept across the United Kingdom, causing power outages and widespread train and flight cancelations.
